Questions and Answers

Empty Quiver Archery:

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment to use the range, or can I just walk in?

We welcome walk-ins! However, our lanes can fill up quickly, especially on weekends or during league nights. If you are bringing a group or require a rental, we recommend calling ahead or checking our online schedule to ensure a lane is available.

I have an old bow I found in the garage. Can you guys get it shootable?

Safety is our first priority. We offer a full inspection for older equipment. We will check the limbs for stress fractures and evaluate the condition of the string and cables. If it’s safe to shoot, we can tune it for you!

I’ve never picked up a bow before. Do you have classes for adults?

Archery is for everyone. We offer "Intro to Archery" sessions specifically for adults and seniors. We provide all the gear—including specialized beginner hunting recurves and compound bows—so you can try different styles before you buy anything.

Do you build custom strings on-site?

We do. We can build custom sets for both compound and recurve bows using high-performance materials. You can choose your colors and we will ensure the lengths and servings are built to your bow’s exact specifications.

Do you sell gift certificates for your shop?

We do! They are available in any denomination and can be used for range time, equipment, or even toward a new bow setup. They make great donations for local school fundraisers and PTA events.

I bought a bow online; will you guys set it up and tune it for me?

Absolutely. While we carry a full inventory of bows, we are happy to provide professional setup services for outside equipment. This includes installing accessories, checking draw length, and timing cams to ensure the bow is safe and optimized for you.

How often should I replace my bowstring?

For most active shooters, we recommend replacing strings and cables every 2 years, or sooner if you notice fraying or "fuzziness" that doesn't go away with waxing. In Colorado’s dry climate, keeping your strings waxed is essential to prevent premature wear.

What is "Paper Tuning" and do I need it?

Paper tuning involves shooting an arrow through a taut sheet of paper to analyze its flight path. It tells us exactly how the bow is launching the arrow. We recommend this for anyone looking for maximum accuracy, especially hunters using broadheads.
